An online shop with canvases as hardware-screensavers to rescue painting ...

SCHONKLICK
Online-Shop with hardware screensavers

The project "Schonklick" is a confrontation with the media image world and the commercialisation of art in the Internet. In recovering paintings in the media world, the online shop marketed picture prototypes as "hardware- screensavers". These catalog prototypes were offered as real "material paintings", which could be shuffled as hardware through the monitor.

The bidded picture prototypes counteract the image expectancy in the Internet and through their allocation as "hardware" screensavers the implementation of the medium is made impossible. Anyhow, the product is only found in the online shop and must be ordered there. The work ends with the hardware screensaver "Highlight" (object with gold-plate) to the millenium.

Prototypes

The hardware screensaver paintings are plagiarisms of selected artworks, examples of classical modern or contemporary. These real canvases can be shuffled as hardware through a monitor.

14 picture objects as prototypes for 17'' monitors (each 42 x 45,7 cm, mixed material on auf plywood): HIGH LIGHT,  WILD ORANGE, DER PIXEL, METER ALLEY, PEODOR MONTANE, MAUL ADEE, SCHWARZ MALUNG, KUNST RASEN, MEAN ADULLY, PÜNTER MÖRG, PECKSON MÜLLOCK, MERHARD ADICHTER, MIET ADOLFDRIAN, SPACE [X]

Photo project

We photograph the objects in different office situations, private and public places, each with equal shooting concept raster. The picture is digitally edited as image of image. With the allocation of paintings as screensavers the use of the media is made impossible. Computer work stations are becoming still lifes.
